Zine Final Artist Statement

My zine ended up following a very different route than expected. Originally, I had wanted my zine to be about tiny comforts in life and I had a whole list of ideas. One of those ideas, was listening to a song that makes me cry. I love the emotional release of listening to a song thatch make you feel such big emotions, not even necessarily a sad song. I decided to expand upon this singular idea and make a zine of a list of songs that make me cry, for good reasons. I wanted to represent those songs in abstract ways by the way they make me feel for this project and so each image is connected to a song, but some are more vague than others. On the back page I included the list of songs and a Spotify code so that the owner of the zine, after looking at the images, could listen to the songs associated with them.
